The Road Beckons
Thanks for all that you've done for me, Mom and Dad, but my future lies with music. I gotta hit the road.

Vegetables
Now that there are flowers on the pea plant and the tomato plant, Max gives each of the plants a kiss. So sweet.

Roly Poly Pudding
Beatrix Potter had a strange imagination (and idea of what are appropriate topics for children). Nonetheless, we have a series of DVDs based on her stories. One bizarre story is "The Tale of Samuel Whiskers," in which Samuel, a rat, catches a kitten so his wife can make roly poly pudding. It's a story worth reading/watching if for no other reason than to exclaim "What?!" at the end.
Making Sandwiches
After a walk on Mt. Coot-tha and at its botanical gardens, Tim and I were a bit tired. I suggested to Max that he make us some sandwiches while Tim and I nap. He LOVED that idea. He made sure that I only laid out the ingredients for him and later that I only helped spread the mayonnaise (after I noticed he did more eating than spreading). He wanted to do the rest.

Vitamin Train
I came up with this idea a couple of months ago and now it is a daily ritual. When it is time to take his vitamins, Max finds his trains and waits at the station (wherever he decides to sit down). My role is to turn on the "move by itself" Thomas and announce "the vitamin train is now approaching Max's station."
